Mr. El Banna is regarded by his peers as the premier professional mixed-use developer in Egypt.
His expertise is recognised by the Middle East Council of Shopping Centers, which is the hub of knowledge for the industry in the region. The MECSC comprises more than 750 industry professionals from all over the Middle East & North Africa representing shopping mall owners, developers, marketing managers, leasing managers and specialists, retailers, consultants, property managers, financiers, accountants, government officials and industry suppliers.
Mr. El Banna worked in the hospitality industry for 15 years serving global hotels such as InterContinental in Cairo, Jeddah and Muscat; Marriot in Cairo and JW Marriot in Washington DC; Holiday Inn in Cairo and Kuwait.
From 1994 to 1999, he worked as a Consultant to the Malaysian Minister of Trade in the Middle East, while simultaneously holding the positions of Project Manager at 4M Group and General Manager of the Egyptian Company for Entertainment and Touristic Attractions. In these roles, he oversaw the management of Arcadia Mall, Arcadia Residential, Fun Planet, and associated services. From 1999 until 2004, he continued his career as the Middle East Regional Manager for Malaysian Palm Oil.
Mr. El Banna founded Alexandria Property Management & Consultation Co. (APMC) in 2004 managing Madinaty and El-Rehab cities as the 5th Settlement developed. APMC’s mandate included all retail outlets, offices, hospitals, club and schools. Also APMC managed the San Stefano Mall and residential complex in Alexandria and Beymen Cairo.
